Aktuell ünbernachtet man in Osnabrück.

QC Software’s Warehouse Control System Part of Six Sigma 2010 Solutions

PR Log (Press Release) – Dec 09, 2009 – Real-time distribution center shipping/packaging data will be needed increasingly during 2010 among companies that are utilizing Six Sigma and other lean initiative programs.  The role of WCS will continue to draw attention as a method to drive quality through customer satisfaction, and a strong reduction in corrective shipping requirements.  Every time a shipment has to be resent represents a costly and wasteful bottom-line impact on the organization.
QC Software (www.qcsoftware.com) is the leading provider of Tier 1 warehouse control systems to the warehousing and distribution industries.   Since 1996, QC Software, utilizing state of the art technology combined with extensive research, development, and rigorous testing, has developed the QC Enterprise suite of products.  QC Software newsletter titled Material Handling Digest.  QC Software president, Rich Hite, recently discussed his predictions for WCS (warehouse control systems) in 2010.
   More networking marketing organizations, MLM’s, with thousands of packages shipped from one or more warehouses will turn to Warehouse Control Systems as a method to improve accurate shipping.  With successful implementations at companies like Arbonne International, Usana, and Lia Sophia, QC Software is poised as the leader in warehouse solutions in the network marketing sector.
   While the DSA (Direct Selling Association) only recognizes 200 networking marketing organizations, more than 30,000 such organizations have been developed and launched in the past ten years.  Growth is expected to continue at a rapid pace as unemployment rates remain high and there is a strong interest in home-based businesses.  DSA is the respected industry watchdog for the network marketing industry.
Designed to be modular in nature, easily configurable, and platform independent, this highly scalable solution satisfies the needs of any size warehouse.  QC Software also professional affiliations with the, DSA, Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, the Warehousing Education and Research Council, and Material Handling Industry of America.

Email and SMS not ready for extinction

PR Log (Press Release) – Dec 09, 2009 – The advent of new communication tools like Facebook and Twitter, combined with the digital era information overload has led to some commentators predicting the death of sender-controlled communications, changing how businesses communicate with their customers.
According to them, applications like email and SMS will soon become extinct as consumers opt for more control over the information they receive. But like most predictions relating to new trends, these comments are perhaps too radical. Communication in the future will probably tend towards a middle path. In fact, a scenario where the receiver has sole control over communication could potentially be more onerous for consumers.
Speculators have described a future where consumers manage all their communication via a single interface. But just think of all the companies and individuals you personally deal with on a daily basis, and all the different types of communication you receive. While controlling who may communicate with you might be possible, determining electronically the context of communications from the receiver side is very difficult. The context of the communication often determines whether we expect, or even demand, the business to notify us, or whether we regard the communication as a nuisance.
Product recall notices, disaster notifications, or notices of delays are examples of communication people demand to receive. Timely reminders are also regarded by most consumers as beneficial, for example a last minute SMS reminder from the dentist reminding you of your next appointment.
Another example is taking your car to a panel beater.  They ask for your cellphone number so they can keep you updated on progress via SMS. This is beneficial as you do not have to make the effort to follow up personally.  Would I give them my Facebook or Twitter profiles so that they can keep me updated?  Probably not, as this would also then give them access to my personal profile, pictures and posts—not necessarily a good idea for a purely commercial relationship that is possibly once off.
It is conceivable that a specific social networking tool will emerge to fulfill this function. However, what is more likely is that companies will get smarter about their communications, ensuring that they are contacting customers in the manner of their choice. This will be achieved by offering customers a choice to opt-in and opt-out of a variety of communications, with the defaults selected by the company.
Facebook itself is a model example of this by providing users with a page that allows them to customise various types of email and SMS notifications.  The beauty of digital forms of communication is that they can be tailored according to customers’ preferences.
This communications paradigm stands in contrast to the days of mass-media communication, which are increasingly numbered—as is apparent by the declining advertising revenues in traditional media. Yet many businesses have not woken up to this fact or have not harnessed the potential of digital tools such as SMS, let alone social media for their business communications.
The future lies in businesses continuing to use sender-controlled media in a manner similar to social media services, where each business provides consumers with suitable control over the types of business communication they receive. Ultimately, only the sender knows the context of messages and will be able to effectively use various communication mediums to meet consumer needs and demands.
If companies get it right, the holy grail of service – customer satisfaction – is theirs for the taking.

Avatar Movie Facts
Jake has inadvertently been recruited to become part of this encroachment. Since humans are unable to breathe the air on Pandora, they have created genetically-bred human-Na’vi hybrids known as Avatars. On Pandora, through his Avatar body, Jake will be able to walk again. Sent deep into Pandora's jungles as a scout for the soldiers that will follow, Jake encounters many of Pandora's beauties and dangers. There he meets a young Na’vi female, Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña).
Over time, Jake integrates himself into the Na'vi clan, and starts to fall in love with Neytiri. As a result, Jake finds himself caught between the military-industrial forces of Earth and the Na’vi, making him to choose sides in an epic battle that will decide the fate of an entire world.
Avatar is without a doubt the biggest movie of the year. Award winning James Cameron has been working on this movie since the release of his last huge blockbuster Titanic. A lot of movies these days get a lot of hype and do not live up to it' but I guarantee Avatar is going to deliver in a big way.

Iron Man 2
* Don Cheadle as Lt. Colonel James "Rhodey" Rhodes / War Machine: Cheadle is replacing Terrence Howard from the original film. Howard said, "There was no reason, apparently the contracts that we write and sign aren't as good as the paper that they're printed on, now and then. Deals aren't kept, and good faith discussions aren't always held up." Entertainment Weekly stated Favreau did not like operating with Howard, often reshooting and cutting his scenes; Howard's publicist stated he had aexcellent time playing the role, while Marvel chose not to comment. As Favreau and Theroux decided to lessen the role, Marvel came to Howard to discuss reducing his wages - Howard was the first artist hired in Iron Man and earned the biggest salary of the cast. The publicationcommented they were unsure whether Howard's council left the project first or if Marvel chose to stop negotiating. Theroux denied the part of the report stating "the role of War Machine was scaled back and then pumped up". Cheadle just had a few hours toaccept the part and were not aware which storyline Rhodes would undergo. He stated he is a comic book fan, but felt there are not enough black superheroes.
New Moon (marketed as The Twilight Saga: New Moon) is a 2009 American romantic fantasy film. Melissa Rosenberg, who handed in a draft of the film script during the opening weekend of Twilight, returns as the screenwriter for the second installment as well.
The film was released on November 20, 2009 in most countries, and set domestic box office records as the leading midnight screening with $26.3 million. College Prep Gap Creating New Markets

PR Log (Press Release) – Dec 08, 2009 – Last week, Deloitte LLP announced the results of their 2009 Education Study (http://www.deloitte.com/us/educationsurvey), which found that only 9 per cent of teachers considered college preparation as the primary mission of high school, compared to 42 and 48 per cent for low-income parents and students respectively. Half of the students surveyed said they are not “very confident” they have the necessary knowledge about how to best prepare for college.
This research highlites a growing trend in college prep - the growth of advising services aimed at mid- to low-income students.
iAdmissions, a San Francisco based company, was founded this year to help expand the college advising resources that are available to the majority students. iAdmissions harnesses internet communications to allow students to access former admissions officers from well-known universities with questions about their college essays. Every new student that purchases services from iAdmissions.com helps fund scholarship coaching to low-income students and families.
“We’ve heard from both counselors and students that many public schools are stretched too thin to provide the advising students need. We started this year with only application essays but families are seeking additional guidance on all sorts of topics related to their high school aged students,” said Sutanto Widjaja, the seed investor of iAdmissions.

Treatment Available For Common Disorder Impacting Service Professionals

PR Log (Press Release) – Dec 08, 2009 – It is a common problem impacting service based professionals, however, a new treatment is available to remedy the long term impacts of “Rabidus Clientitis” loosely translated to the art and science of dealing with difficult clients.
Difficult clients have long been an issue for service based professionals, but a new website, http://www.mycrazyclient.com serves as a online community where service based professionals can share their stories, get advice and pass along a much needed laugh to those who can use it most.
“It is a serious problem,” says founder Lee Cope. “Working with difficult clients creates unique challenges that tragically are not billable. We sadly can’t bill for the stress, annoyance, and aggravation so our hope is to provide a forum where those afflicted can share their stories without burdening their families and loved ones. We hope to become part hilarity and part therapy for those impacted by this devastating condition.”
Participants can chose to either anonymously contribute their tales of woe, or chose to include their website and contact information. Cope says for those who may chose to self promote (particularly social media “experts”), there could be potential business to be gained. “You never know. Someone could be so impressed by your handling of a difficult client they chose to hire you. The choice to self promote is yours,” says Cope.
If you or someone you know is afflicted by this debilitating condition, please reach out at http://www.mycrazyclient.com, or on Twitter at http://twitter.com/crazyclient and share your story with other professionals battling similar situations. Perhaps together a solution, not a just a treatment, will be developed to combat difficult client situations.
